Tanzania will officially launch the Julius Nyerere Hydropower Project on August 22, which can generate 2,115 megawatts of electricity. The project, costing about US$3.35 billion, helps provide more power, control floods, and support farming and tourism. It is the largest power project in the country and will boost Tanzania's economy and energy supply.
